Position Summary
The Museum for Art in Wood seeks a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Donor Relations Coordinator to support our fundraising, donor engagement, and communications activities. Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Communications and supporting the Chief Curator and Executive Director, this role helps strengthen relationships with individual donors, coordinates donor communications and events, manages data in the CRM system, and provides administrative support for development initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone early in their development career who is eager to grow their skills in fundraising and donor relations within a collaborative, mission-driven museum environment.
Key Responsibilities
Individual Giving & Stewardship
- Support the implementation of annual fundraising appeals and campaigns.
- Assist with donor communications, acknowledgments, and mailings.
- Track donor recognition and benefits for all membership/donor levels.
- Maintain donor files and support stewardship activities to ensure timely follow-up.
- Support individual outreach to Cambium Level Donors.
CRM & Data Management
- Enter and update donor information in Neon CRM.
- Generate reports, mailing lists, and donor acknowledgments as needed.
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate gift processing and reconciliation.
Events & Donor Engagement
- Assist with planning and logistics for donor events and the Museum’s annual fundraiser.
- Support event registration, RSVPs, materials, and day-of coordination.
- Work collaboratively to ensure events reflect the Museum’s mission and donor community.
Administrative & Board Support
- Help prepare materials for Board and committee meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, Chief Curator, and Director of Outreach and Communications as needed.
- Assist with grant submissions and related documentation.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in development, donor relations, or nonprofit administration (internships or volunteer experience welcome).
- Strong organizational and communication skills; attention to detail is essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems preferred (experience with Neon CRM a plus).
- Enthusiasm for museums, contemporary art, and the mission of the Museum for Art in Wood.
