The Museum for Art in Wood is proud to present the Young Artist Speaker Series. Each semester, an artist is invited to share their work and discuss their experiences as an independent artist. The eighth installment in the series features Sterling Cruz-Herr, an entrepreneur, teacher, and artist. Sterling will lead an interactive session to explore how we get paid for our passion by building audiences, responding to their leads, and connecting with our peers. Sterling doesn’t claim to know the answers, but they promise to bring good questions. Don’t miss this lunch hour for the opportunity to learn about Sterling Cruz-Herr’s journey!
Sterling is only young in woodworker years; but they nonetheless are building a business — T4Timbers — with products for the queer/trans community and our allies. What they lack in woodworking experience, they are trying to offset with communication skills garnered over decades.
This event is free to the public. The Museum for Art in Wood interprets, nurtures, and champions creative engagement and expansion of art, craft, and design in wood to enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of it. A suggested donation of $5 per person enables us to provide programs and exhibitions throughout the year.
