This First Friday, stop into the Museum for Art in Wood and experience PLACING, the exhibition featuring the work of the 2023 Windgate Arts Residency Program in Wood! This highly anticipated exhibition reveals artwork made by the 2023 WARP Wood fellows, an international cohort of artists who came to Philadelphia to live and work together for two months, researching, exploring, and collaborating—all in the name of art in wood! Now in its twenty-sixth year, this renowned residency offers artists specializing in the material of wood the opportunity to test their vision and skill, while developing connections with colleagues, collectors, and the city of Philadelphia.
While you’re here, join us for Object Lesson with Tom Martin in our library from 6 – 7 pm, explore our collection, and shop our Museum Store for unique handmade goods.
The Museum for Art in Wood interprets, nurtures, and champions creative engagement and expansion of art, craft, and design in wood to enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of it. A suggested donation of $5 per person enables us to provide programs and exhibitions throughout the year.
