TOPS Workshop

The Center for Art in Wood invites you to join us for another exhibition inspired, hands on art workshop! Enjoy a brief gallery tour of our current exhibition, allTURNatives: Form + Spirit 2012. Then it’s your TURN to design and create your very own spinning disc top, right in the Center’s museum, surrounded by the inspiring works on display.

Critically acclaimed visual artist and teacher, Rachel Bliss, guided the creative journey. Participants got to witness up-close, the top turning lathe demonstrations for the duration of the workshop. Soulful wood artist and seasoned teacher, Konrad “Marty” Richter, amazed and engaged with his sensitivity and skill as he demonstrated a number of lathe turning techniques.
Don’t forget, the “TOPS SPIN OFF” is Saturday, November 3rd from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Center. Everyone who created a top at one of our workshops is invited back for a competitive spin off. The last ones spinning will be awarded top prizes.
