Notes: The 'Tower Box' is an example of my recent work in ornamental turning. The box is made of numerous sections that are first hand-turned and fitted and then embellished with patterns cut by my ornamental turning machine. The OT machine is also used to make the screw threads for the top and bottom sections and to cut the tiny columns in place. I write special software to create instructions for cutting the geometrical patterns inspired by historical ornamental turning machines and to make non-symmetric patterns that would be difficult to make with the machines of the past.
