Notes: As a lathe artist, I seek effects different from other turning, yet exclusive to the lathe. I explore form and process together, working to expand the range of what can be done on the lathe, which in turn pushes the frontier of what can be done with wood. Much of the time, through a process I call turning diamonds for the shape of the blanks I use, I shape multiple elements from multiple sides and bring them together in a cohesive whole. All shaping is done on the lathe. Ruby Plush resulted from this process.
