Notes: This image encapsulated my creative philosophy: that natural forms, textures, and colors always will take precedence over the realistic image - regardless of whether it is a documentary or a fine art piece. As a photographer/artist, being a part of such a distinguished program propelled my work forward. It helped me to realize that my work held great value, not only to me but to an esteemed group of collectors. This encouraged me to continue with my artistic purpose in a professional capacity. It was a life changing experience that I will never forget. When I saw fellow ITE resident Adrien Segal holding the piece of wood, and how her hand conformed with the shape she was creating – it looked as though they were one entity, growing and evolving together. I pondered whether Adrien created the beautiful form because she responded to the sensuous feel and shape of the wood, or did the wood respond to her hand - creating a bond between them that produced this beautiful, elegant piece?
