Notes: My two works in Flashback / Fast Forward illustrate the transition that started to take place in my work during the Center’s first International Turning Exchange (ITE), 1995. Inscribed platter, 1994, epitomizes my work prior to the ITE. My early work at times was said to be precise, with an impersonal almost machine-like quality about it. In my formative years using the material wood as canvas, I struggled to find balance between the material, my forms and surface treatments.
