Notes: The Center’s Robin Wood CORES experience was in many ways more than a little special to me. This is because I’ve always admired Robin’s works and philosophy, because the core recycling challenge was really exciting and also because it was an opportunity to exhibit my own work with some of the artists that were models or inspirations during my younger years in the field. The ‘chrysalis’ concept came quickly - but it took me several weeks of producing dozens of small scale, multi-axis studies before I was happy enough with the result and to transform the precious core. ‘Butterfly #01’ was born. Happily, the studies became the foundation of a new series.
