Join The Center for Art in Wood and Dad’s Hat Rye Whiskey on Thursday, May 11th, 6 – 8pm, for
Whiskey & Wood. Enjoy an evening of sipping whiskey and learning about coopering, the ancient
art of barrel making. Experience our current exhibition SMOOTH: Mangle Boards of Northern
Europe & Contemporary Concepts while sampling the classic Pennsylvania Rye spirits distilled
locally by Dad’s Hat. Artist Keunho Peter Park will be there talking about the coopering technique
and how he incorporates it in his own work. Light refreshments will be served to compliment the
experience. Tickets are $15 ($10 for members) and include automatic entry to a drawing for quality
local artisan home goods. The winner will receive a prize valued at $150 and will be announced at
the end of the evening. The Center for Art in Wood is a nonprofit arts organization. All proceeds
benefit future programing, education and exhibitions.
