International Women’s Day Textile Pop-up

International Women’s Day Craft Pop-up | at The Center for Art in Wood with Mural Arts Philadelphia Sat, March 7, 2020 | 2 – 4 pm

 

Join us for a special pop-up event co-hosted with Mural Arts Philadelphia featuring women artists during the Center’s International Women’s Day Event. Stop by and shop wares from:
 
– Love Lola Knits: Knitwear and “Daughter of an Immigrant” branded shirts by Malika Oyetimein a local theater Director and artist with roots in Nigeria

– Sahar El Hanafe: An Egyptian textile and crochet artist based in Northeast Philadelphia (handmade doilies, lace items, and jewelry)

– Claudia Peregrina: Mexican community-based artist selling accessories and clothing

– Refugee Women’s Textile Initiative: a Mural Arts-sponsored cooperative of refugee women from Southeast Philadelphia selling handmade accessories and clothing items.
 
This event is free to the public. The Center for Art in Wood interprets, nurtures, and champions creative engagement and expansion of art, craft, and design in wood to enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of it. A suggested donation of $5 per person enables us to provide programs and exhibitions throughout the year.
