I enjoy the process of conception to implementation, facing the challenge of portraying a story through an image in a turned piece a wood. This challenge is shown this recent work inspired by the image I see in flowers. Matching a compatible flower sentiment to the wood selection based on grain pattern and color is integral to the process. For this piece, the orange color of the buckthorn wood harmonizes with the enthusiasm and passion expressed in the petals of an orange rose.
