Notes: In 2002, Albert LeCoff gave me a very encouraging critique on one of my first multi-axis turned wood sculptures in what would become my “Evolution of the Wheel Series.” In 2005, “Fleetwood” was one of six of my works that was selected to be exhibited in “Innovations: Perspectives in Turning,” organized by the Wood Turning Center, now The Center for Art in Wood, in Philadelphia. This is an example for a five-axis Wheel from this period. “Fleetwood has been on display in my office since 2005. When an artist works on a series, it gives the artist an opportunity to study how minor changes in the design affect the visual results of the completed sculpture. In 2005 and 2006, I concentrated on creating “Wheels,” using multi-axis wood turning techniques. This period was a wonderful learning experience for me.
