Notes: Several years later, I felt I should do a new piece with some similarities [ to Mosaic Bowl, 1993] but using a different orientation of the wood. I decided to use long sections of branches and place them together in a cylindrical form. I then filled the form with an epoxy resin mix that was again darkened with carbon black. When the mix hardened, it was put on the lathe and turned like a single piece of wood. This made the shape of the wood sections curve and showed off the side grain of the pieces. This time I called it a bundled mosaic because of how the pieces were assembled. This piece represents a new form, though recognizable for its contrasting appearance, similar to the original mosaic bowl.
