Notes: In 1991, Albert LeCoff asked me to participate in the Wood Turning Center’s Challenge IV exhibition in Philadelphia. This was the first time that I had a chance to show my work in the USA. Albert LeCoff and the Wood Turning Center (now The Center for Art in Wood) brought me over to USA for the exhibition, and made it all possible. People who saw the piece really liked it, and the whole exhibition was a big success for me. Thanks to this exhibition, I became well known in the wood turning field. I think that this is one of the reasons why the “Ball Box” is one of the most important pieces that I’ve ever made. I still like it as much as on the day when I finished the first piece. Over the years, I’ve kept working on this form and have developed several different designs.
