Notes: The majority of my woodwork today is done on the ornamental rose engine lathe. It allows cuts to be made much smoother, more precisely, and even at a faster pace. My current series of boxes are in a category of what I call waves. Using this lathe, I am able to ungulate the work to create patterns similar to that of waves. My box for this exhibit is 33 Wave, made from Mopane wood, African Blackwood, Tagua Nut, and a bit of copper splash. Patterns were created on the outside as well as the inside of the box. Life is short, so there should be some fun in it. Ornamental turning lathes are my toys to have fun with, and I never know what they will make for me.
