Tamsen Wojtanowski

Upon viewing the Center’s collection I was immediately drawn to the series of three woodblock prints titled “Centrifugal Landscapes” by Christian Burchard, Laurent Guillot, and Michael Hosaluk. I was drawn to these works for many reasons, paramount being my own predilection to work in a two-dimensional format, also by the easy accessibility of the works’ concepts.
In my response to these works in the collection, I too use the idea of landscape and a circular printing style to create a series of cyanotype prints depicting our modern day sprawl. These images act as a glimpse through the peephole into a familiar place.
