Lin Elkins as the Fellow for their sixth annual Winter Residency Program. Launched in 2021, the program is designed for artists based in the Greater Philadelphia region who work in the medium of wood and are pursuing research-based inquiries into sustainable creative practice. The two-month Residency culminates in an exhibition that is currently on view at NextFab. Going Up by Lin Elkins explores the various ways humans try to make sense of an unpredictable world. Games, simple machines, and small acts of participation become tools for thinking about fate, progress, and the desire to control what surrounds us.
